#myhealthymeans Week 1 Wrap Up

Happy Sunday!  I hope y’all have enjoyed the Instagram LIVE interviews and have participated with the hashtag (and giveaway!!!) this week.

I spoke with 4 wonderful ladies about what healthy looks like for them, and have rounded up the notes from each session here in this one post for your convenience.  Unfortunately, technology is the worst, and I can’t save Instagram LIVE videos with a guest (straight eye and mouth emoji).  Because of that I’ve had to make shift the playbacks and they are horrible quality so I am st.  For that I’m so sorry, but I have zero video skills so gimme a break, mmk?  I hope this info is helpful, and be sure to join me this coming week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday!!

Monday – Me!

On Monday I gave a quick recap about what #myhealthymeans is all about. Watch the replay here.

To recap: I discussed the four main ways you can get involved.

  1. Use the hashtag
  2. Join my AH tribe
  3. Watch the Live Videos
  4. Enter the Giveaways

For complete details, check out this post.

Tuesday – Erin from @theblissbetween

Erin is the author/creator of The Bliss Between, a blog and Instagram feed that encourages people to find the little glimpses of bliss between, the daily mundane, less-than-instagram-worthy moments. She is also a certified yoga teacher and has an adorable cat named Sage.  Watch her replay here.

Her recommendations included: Poet – Nayyirah Waheed, Be Well Company: Organic Cleansing Facial Oil in Lavender and Myrrh, The Breathing Book

Wednesday – Clara from @foodfitnessandfaith

Clara is a registered dietitian nutritionist and lives in Asheville, NC! She focuses on real food recipes and specializes in helping others have a healthy relationship with food, nourish their body, and feel comfortable in their skin.  Unfortunately, I was unable to get a video of our convo, so be sure to check out her insta!

She recommended: Nine Mile (restaurant in Asheville, NC) and Funk’tional Nutrition Podcast.

Thursday – Julia from @fitfatandallthat

Julia is the creator of Fit Fat and All that, which is a beautiful community all about self-love and body-acceptance. She is constantly advocating against the diet mentality and the idea that we need to take up less space. She has a contagious positive vibe and I love her entire recovery message.  Get the replay of our convo here. (Forewarning: I did not get the whole video and it’s pieced together pretty awfully, but, you still love me right?)

We discussed the 6 tips to self-love and body-acceptance

  1. Stop Diet Talk
  2. Self-Love everywhere
  3. Ability not Weight
  4. Body-Positive Bubble
  5. Buy Clothes that Fit
  6. Don’t Compare

She also recommended: Gifts of Imperfection, by Brene Brown

Friday – Valerie from @thymeandjoy

Valerie is a personal chef and owner of Thyme & Joy in-home meal prep service. She is a certified healing foods chef trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute in NYC!! She now serves the greater Charleston area and helps you get back 10+ hours of time each week by meal-prepping for individuals and families based on their nutrition needs. One thing I love about her services is that she doesn’t focus on one way to eat. She is fantastic at creating meals for anyone following any style of eating. Including families with kids!

We discussed everything from abstainer vs. moderator to meal-prep and grocery store tips.  Watch our convo replay here.

She recommended: The 5 Love Languages, by Gary Chapman
