When it comes to creating a healthy lifestyle it’s important to build a routine around habit and not restriction.
A little over a year ago I read the book Miracle Morning.
When December rolls around, so too do all the gift guides. I thought about contributing in the same way this year, by providing you with wonderful ideas for all your fit friends.
When it comes to a healthy lifestyle, I often encourage people to build healthy habits and not rely on restriction. Because let’s face it….restriction doesn’t work.

In the spirit of the season, I thought I’d list a few of the things I’m most grateful for (in no particular order).
This past Sunday evening I joined Verde, a local restaurant chain, in their #fansgiving fall event. It was such a fun night. We talked, laughed, ate. All the good things wrapped into one evening.
When I was younger I was all into sports (I still love them, don’t worry) and thought of exercise as something that was very difficult, burned lots of calories, and increased my sport performance.
It’s here! The most wonderful time of the year! Seriously though, if you don’t like the holiday season I’m not sure we can be friends. It’s not that I won’t like you, but rather, you won’t like me.
Each year when the holidays roll around I take some time with my journal (and my thoughts) and check my heart and attitude going into the season. For many, this time of year is filled with stress.
